Wow lots of emotion and opinions on Hornady bullets. I've never been a big user of Hornady bullets but they have grown on me since Covid. Bullets became in very short supply on the shelves in the US in the covid days, Hornady bullets were the most available bullets in the market place in all calibers. I started using their soft point bullets for practice loads, I was surprised at the quality and the price point (super great value). I started to shoot some of their other bullets for long distance shooting, those also performed well, I shot more than 20 buffalo with their DGX bonded bullets in .416 400 grain last year, tremendous performance, not a single buffalo complained.
So much is changing at such a pace in the market, Hornady is sometimes one of the few manufacturers providing a range of ammunition for many new calibers, I shoot their .22 ARC ammo, they offer 4 loads, I cannot find other suppliers.
As shooters we are lucky today to have so many offerings from so many companies, sure we are all going to have our preferences but let's not just bad mouth products because they are not your favorites. I historically was a user of Nosler and Sierra, Barnes has become my non lead preference, Hornady now has a place with me for many of their bullets and at very competitive prices. Do Hornady make the best product in every class of bullet, obviously not, but they do make some good stuff and have continued to develop bullets, develop calibers and support shooters across all aspects of the shooting sports.
The great thing is that you get to choose the products that you like at the price points you are willing to pay.
Maybe…..£52 is what I have been paying from Wildcat. The Lapuas can be had for a little bit less.
