TR 140 which is equivalent to Vihtavuori N140. 61.5 gns. No pressure symptoms and a MV of 3275 fps with CX 110 gn. Zero 100 m and Zero again at 175 m. 3 clicks on the ballistic turret (3x 2 cm) at 200, 6x 2.5 cm at 250 m and 9 x 3cm at 300m.Gosh - what powder and charge are giving that MV?
220 gn Hornaday RN are best for me. They work better than Barnes 200 gnHi
For me in .30-06 the best bullets are Sako Super Hmmerhead in 180gr.
100% deadly in wild boars
Good analysis but back order Nosler virtual bullets are hard to shoot . I really like Nosler but Hornaday are easy to source. With the 6.5 ELDX bullets, I’ve encountered inconsistent weights; in a single box, I sorted out three batches of three different weights. They are no longer my top choice—unlike Nosler bullets, which I consider decidedly superior, whenever you can actually find them.
Why?personally I wouldn’t use a hornady bullet if I was paid too!
lead and especially copper!
Their shite that’s why, some love them, I hate themWhy?
Fair enough . I have always used Barnes for 18 years and the terminal effects are great but the QC has been off recently and they don't group with my rifle and 2 of my friend's rifles any more and the weights are all over the place now. If you can't hit what you are shooting at despite being careful with your reloading and shooting then there is a problem. I do respect your opinion and I am not being anti youTheir shite that’s why, some love them, I hate them
Shot 100 of their copper years ago, too hard pencilled through, too many runners.
Thats why I only use barnes
Fair enough but the CX is a revised bullet because of this.Their shite that’s why, some love them, I hate them

Because for stalking it's really fast and FLAT and Copper needs SPEED to open up and humanely kill and be less effected by the wind (less airborne time means less wind effect. Force x time)Why would you want to drive a bullet that fast?
Ahha! A typo. I did wonder.TR 140 which is equivalent to Vihtavuori N140. 61.5 gns. No pressure symptoms and a MV of 3275 fps with CX 110 gn. Zero 100 m and Zero again at 175 m. 3 clicks on the ballistic turret (3x 2 cm) at 200, 6x 2.5 cm at 250 m and 9 x 3cm at 300m.
Single base slow powder so longer than N550And how long the barrel is going to last![]()
Shot copper over 20 years they don’t need speedBecause for stalking it's really fast and FLAT and Copper needs SPEED to open up and humanely kill and be less effected by the wind (less airborne time means less wind effect. Force x time)
I have always been a Copper advocate for health reasons (I'm a Dr) but lead is the best beyond 350 m and for close range wild boarFor monometal i always prefer Barnes Ttsx, however with lead i get really successful results with Hornady Interlock SP and RN.
Depends more on rapid fire. Slow fire will probably be normal. And how long the barrel is going to last![]()
To be fair, I'd be trying to get 110gr to go pretty fast, just for flatness and down-range energy rather than anything else. It would get a bit loopy if run much slower, and the load look far from too much.Shot copper over 20 years they don’t need speed
Why not?
Is that not how it is spelt? He's mocking your spelling . "Hornady"
