Marketing or are we heading for the same? will the likes of Eley, Hull, Fiocchi agree with the article, which shows the Green Core biodegradable wads used by, Fiocchi. B&P and Express. Has Mr Horton done himself any good with such an article?
Boiling water down the barrels is a standard way of clearing out the gunk from using black powder so I may take that with a grain or two of salt as the author doesn’t say what cartridge had been used.
But frankly we’re going to need a lead alternative for shotguns by the looks of it and if Hortonium works, can be produced in sufficient quantities to meet demand, and is cost effective then fine, let’s use that.
gamebore say:
Specialist Cleaning Instructions: Using a bronze wire brush, remove the excess wad residue whilst dry. Next, spray a mild, water-based household cleaning product such as glass cleaner down the barrels and leave for a few minutes to allow the breakdown of any stubborn residue. Use the bronze wire brush again to remove any remaining streaks, followed by a rag or dry tissue to wipe away the remaining cleaning product. Dry the barrels thoroughly before applying a gun oil.
Not confirmed but Hortonium is claimed to be similar price to Bismuth shot.
Please elaborate? MV doesn't come out of thin air, and neither comes pressure...Much more heat is produced with black powder and it melts the plastic.
I don't understand your last comment but apart from that it is a well known fact amongst muzzleloading shotgun users of common gauges the use of standard plastic wads will cause a vile mess in the barrel. I have the t-shirt.Please elaborate? MV doesn't come out of thin air, and neither comes pressure...
If it’s the same price as bismuth then it’s no good IMO - a quid a throw makes a morning on the clays hideously expensive and a bit of a non starter!!
Yes yes yes.As I have often said. The lead ban is designed to try and end or severely disrupt shooting sports!
He’s already confirmed on here it won’t be as cost effective as lead….Boiling water down the barrels is a standard way of clearing out the gunk from using black powder so I may take that with a grain or two of salt as the author doesn’t say what cartridge had been used.
