Hot-Tubs ! Pro's, Perils, & Pit-falls,

I know a lad who , while working at a local hotel , got to clean the filters on the hot tubs.He said it could be pretty grim. They were indoor tubs, outdoor tubs around here are scarce due to the midges.

Next door has one they only have a shower so a good soak for the three of them daughter has mobility issues and seems to help can be some strange noises later at night a good loud cough is normally required when taking the dog out ;)

Fantastic things
I have the top of the range inflatable one and it’s superb. Brilliant after a day mountain biking.
Was dead against it but am never out the damn thing. Been in it twice today.
Very easy to keep clean and I only use chlorine in mine.

really hot.. too hot if your not careful, about an hour and a half to heat approx a bag and a half of wood very economical
I have my tub at 38c in the summer and 39c in winter. It’s on all year round.
An hour and a half…thats not bad, and I guess there is some ceremony to lighting it and getting ready to go in.
I do like the instant heat of mine though !

We’re only down south a few weeks a year so it’s a nice treat and hardly any bother.

Have had one for several yrs, get a good one is the answer, ours is a hot spring, California made, change water every 12 weeks, grandkids call it the big bath, looking at the milky way puts the world into prospective

Get one! Had one over 15 years, absolute godsend after golf, butchering, or just chilling!
Snap! (Well, apart from the ‘good walk spoiled’ bit). Great for star watching in the winter evenings, 39°C being the perfect antidote to the snow and frost.

Two words Money, Pit.
Luckily, a large tree very close by extended it's root system under the spa and tilted it. Obviously it wasn't going to get better by itself so up with the decking to discover most of the support frame in a bad way so the whole deck needed replacing.
At the moment the job is in recess and the spa lays empty. I don't want it fixed as the expenses will keep rising. As you get older it's difficult to keep up the water quality so "the man" has to come once a week to check it and administer it's medicine.
This year our local Shire of Mornington Peninsula decreed that a permit is now required to have an outdoor spa. You guessed it, an inspection by a private contractor at my cost and a favourable report re safety fences and gate to be supplied then the annual fee. I don't know how much because it never got to that stage.
I think I'll fill it again, put up with the tilt and whack some fish in it.
Grant.
