HOW MUCH????!!!!!!!!!

Interesting …

so, say £1,200 each, multiplied by 70M is £84Bn, gives a saving of £150Bn and better, accountable healthcare

People identifying as a Pineapple and requiring surgery or wanting an extra arm or whatever can pay extra

Every tax payer gets a £5k tax cut

And by not posting union fees nhs Staff are better off and don’t have to strike
Just make it tax deductible.

Too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Simples.
I quite agree. I qualified as a nurse while working in the private sector. I transferred to the NHS to work in the community and was really shocked by the ratio of "managers" compared with my previous employer. The whole system is awash with committees and little empires which grow uncontrolled like tumours with few of them having any positive effect on patient care. The worst of it is that the NHS take a good, experienced nurses and promote them from the wards into management positions, which require a new skill set, without any additional training. The result is the NHS is now run by enthusiastic amateurs and people who have been promoted well beyond their level of incompetence.

Ill add to the NHS bashing from my pint of view !!
Well we in my roll have just got a 2% rise for the first time in 5 years  no slacking off working from home or ducking away every time someone coughed or sneezed.
I'v only just had my first three weeks off and it will be Ground hog day from the 9th!. Iam still waiting for another TKN after 4.5 years on the waiting lists! still must not grumble after all its the moaners parents that we are looking after and yeh of course you know the ones I mean :-|o_O

Love the comments, mainly from people with no idea, the nhs is a bottomless pit , why ? Because people live longer ( due to the nhs ), they carry out far to many operations, because people demand them.
So you want private health insurance, my brother got cancer in the states, his contribution to his treatment was $1,000,000 with 90% coverage. A friend of mine has cancer at this moment, private works insurance, now has a lean on his house, insurance is about not payin out , not payin out.

People who pay the taxes should get a vote on all the services NHS should continue to provide. A lot of unwanted stuff which is not life threatening should be made 'private' and those who want it can pay for it. The amount wasted is simply ridiculous.

Totally agree with you.
Correcting stuff you‘ve had done abroad because its was cheaper / faster, tough you pay for the corrective treatment (witness the teeth whitening and stomach ops that need corrected)

As for insurcance?
Who’s ever been involved in any type of claim and got what they believe they should?

Unfortunately the NHS suffers from continuous mission creep with new treatments, operations and drugs every year. The big Parma’s are screwing the tax payer at every opportunity. There are many woke jobs that are frankly a waste of money and could/should be done away with and finally (my pet hate) we are screwed by those who manage to finance a holiday to the UK and suddenly come down with complex and expensive diseases which they know will get treated and they will never be held financially accountable for.

My Mum worked for the NHS for her entire working life as a nurse and then a health visitor and those at the real coal face deserve to have their salaries doubled.
