How to strength test a trailer

If it has indespension units / stub axles in rubber blocks to absorb the bumps have a look how corroded the outer metal is. I once had an old boat trailer where the indespension unit cracked and twisted while I was towing and in the space of 50 yds was un towable. Turn it over and have a look at the steel work. If its got decent thickness it will probably be fine, If the metal is very corroded in any important places then theres no point in using it on the road.
