I have made the hard decision to sell my HWV dog (Frank). I have trained and being using him for deer stalking he is 4 year old and has a fantastic temperament. I breed him myself and have Franks mother. Franks is a very obedient dog and will walk to heel, sit under a high seat for hours without moving and track deer.
He is very soft and doesn’t not do well with being told off which is common in HWV, he will track wounded deer but not consistently. He has never been used for game shooting he has only ever been exposed to deer stalking. He is good around other dogs and children, I have a 4 and 2 year old and I have never had a concern with him and the kids.
He will make a fantastic stalking companion for the weekend hobbie stalker but unfortunately he just isn’t good enough to be a full time Deer stalking/tracking dog. I take people out stalking and quite often novice stalkers which leads to the odd wounded deer which I need a dog that is consistent which Frank is sadly not. He has tracked wounded deer and done a fantastic job in tricky terrain with little blood but he struggles to switch on a do it every time. I need a dog that will perform every-time.
He has lived in the house but has spent the last two years in a kennel with other dogs. He will need lots of attention and would suit a home with other dogs or some that wouldn’t leave him for long periods of time.
I’m not sure what I want for him, the most important thing is that he goes to the right home. I would be more than happy to show you how he is when out with other dogs and in a working environment.
