Hunter boots paying for arrogance!

Had a pair of the original Sovereigns, favourite wellies ever. Night and day to the shite they produce these days.

Don’t avoid chinese manufacturing - just avoid the rubbish stuff…most people will be posting on this very forum from a chinese made product.

Very short sighted and almost impossible to go through day to day life without buying things from China.

You're going to struggle to find any quality waterproof clothing that's not made in the far east these days. From Arcteryx to Berghaus and just about the whole back packing/Mountaineering market, Sitka Gear, Kiui, Harkila, Musto to name just a few in Hunting and top brands in just about every other sport. Applies to most other consumer good industries, not just clothing.

Chinese factories can make the best quality gear in the world IF the brand specs the product and fabrics correctly and IF the brand have QC on the ground to ensure quality standards are being maintained. But you have to invest in doing it properly, otherwise it all goes pear shaped, as Hunter have discovered as have many others. Many brands go from private ownership to Private Equity, PE wants to reduce costs to get their ROI and corners are cut. The accountants take over and the quality suffers. It's not the fault of the Chinese most of the time it's the brand doing a poor job.

Just like Remington? Cut costs, save money, lose customer loyalty, go bankrupt

Not

Not that hard if u prepared to make the effort

Curious what you typed that post on?
Samsung, korean but no doubt got some chinese stuff in it - I'm not an evangelist. Seriously though for hunting gear down to most everyday stuff it is easier than you think it will be before you try. Give it a go

The loss of so many once quality brands to the far east, where they are produced to pound shop standards is a total disgrace.

One upon a time, Britain was the industrial heartland of the world (around the industrial revolution) but no longer. However since then we have secured a niche by producing top quality goods, where you buy a premium and get premium products. But sadly, this now seems to be falling apart. And it's not anything to do with Brexit, this started way before that. In fact, a certain isolation in producing those premium products should be an asset.

Hey-ho, the place is going to rack and ruin, with a Prime Minister that thought us plebs wouldn't notice he wasn't wearing a belt in a moving car.

Absolutely bang on there mate !

I do wonder what quality is made in China?
Happy to be educated
Apple gear for a start. The last high spec MacBook Pro laptop I ordered was built to order in China then couriered to me. Took about a week from order to delivery if I remember correctly. With the improved hardware it was about £4000.

Hunters... the boot you wear to town. Millennials love them, ideal for the school run in dry weather to make the residents of the village think your country folk while exiting your poorly constructed new build that was a favourite field for the dogs prior to your ugly houses and cars that value 15x your income just because the neighbours have them.

Good riddance to hunter, it'll be furry sliders on the school run from now on.

Oh no you need a pair of these for the school run ,gotta make the kids embarrassed 🤣🤣

I had my last 4 pairs of Hunters replaced under warranty, none lasted more than 4 months, I gave up in September when I had a look at the last pair which had been stored over the summer in the garage.
They were totally rotten, even the Hunter logo on the front had cracked, absolute rubbish.
Nearly the same as me but I had my money back after the second or third pair.
