Everyone should own a Mora and be able to sharpen it. I've had other knives but always gone back to a Mora.
For the field and getting a deer into the larder a knife has to do two extreme things - a point to start the gralloch, but also be pretty tough to remove heads and legs etc. and touching bone. For me an acute scandi grind like a mora is ideal for that. For roe and smaller, a 3 or 4 inch blade is all you need and it can fit in your pocket. Having a hi viz colour is helpful - I lost a few knives and sheaths late at night.
