Last of the Coypu…. seems they just can’t help themselves. If they were held responsible for the damage thus inflicted to the property of others, it might change, but as it is?

Not sure the law in eng.
But pretty sure they changed it in scotland so all beaver are protected ( althou u can appmy for a licence to cull some)
Originally it was only the legally released beaver that wdre protected

Beavers do have their uses. In my state, I can't dam a creek to impound water for a trout pond without getting approval from a number of agencies. If a beaver does it though, I can't remove the dam/impoundment without approval from another set of agencies.

I think if you read and understand my post in it's context you'll see that I'm stating a likely outcome, not encouraging one

Beavers were released in the creek by our house then I were a kid, 20y later we had a regular hunting period for them we still have a 5 month of hunting each year. They have also spread 500-700km by them self. If you want to hunt you guys are welcome.

Purely out of interest, do you have a minimum calibre for them? I would have thought a 22 centrefire would do the job, bit of a riccochet risk if they are swimming?
