Sad day yesterday - used up my last pot of IMR4895

I'm not as far forward as I hoped in moving over to VIT N135 and N160 so, with no expectation of success, this shout out for anyone who may have a pot languishing unloved on their reloading bench that they would let go for cash

Whilst I live in North Bristol, I do get around a bit (in Portsmouth next Monday) and Arran 2 weeks Saturday and happy to drive within reasonable distance to collect face-to-face and pay cash.

Hi @wytonpjs, I’m in the same position in that I’m scraping the barrel (literally) with my last pot of IMR4895. Curious if you ever found a good replacement powder?

@HKHex As posted above, I got very lucky and picked up 8 pots of IMR4895 from Paul that will probably see me out. However, I have sort of cutover to Vit as well, using N140 and N135 - I have also got some N160 to try too. Lots of load data out there for NLA use in my .243, .270 and .308 rifles

It’s for a .308. I’ve currently got a great load using 39.8 gr IMR4895 with ELD-X 178gr bullets through a Tikka M595

Never tried imr4895 but used a lot of h4895. One of my favourites.
Im sure you will soon find a good load with any mid range powder for 308. Especially from a 595.

Like Smellydog, I am a Hodgdon's 4895 man. Really good in the trusty old 30-06.
