Hi I’ve just joined stalking directory and been been asked to introduce myself, so here goes. I’ve been shooting for 40 years. I shoot targets, deer stalk and varmint hunt. I have a farm in East Sussex with a sizeable deer herd which passes through from time to time. I have roe deer living permanently on the farm, but I leave them and generally shoot younger fallow which need very little hanging and make great sausages and burgers. I like shooting small calibre centre fires the most, at targets and vermin. I still have my 17 Remington, which was the first rifle I bought back in the late eighties. Preferred rifles are Remington 700s and Blaser R93s, although I have a browning xbolt and a few other makes in the gun safe. I’ve collected some great scopes over the years, all bought used, and enjoy shooting targets out to probs 400 metres max. I haven’t got round to shooting properly long range, but would like to do so. Down side of my farm is the ranges are short. Great for harvesting deer cleanly but bad for tricky shots on vermin, so I am seeing if I can find some shooting on the Downs by the coast. Nice safe long range shooting. I reload all of my centre fire ammunition and like working on rifles, especially PCP air rifles. Favourite air rifle is my Daystate Air Ranger which is on ticket at 38 ftlbs. I have a soft spot for theoben rapids and have a few in 12ft lbs and a .20 calibre on ticket. I look forward to joining the conversation and learning from people who seem to really know what they are talking about. Ash
