Hello
I am a hunter and shooter from the USA, I am always interested in what my fellow sportsmen are doing. I am first, last and always a rifleman, I own some pistols but don’t shoot them much. I shoot German schuetzen rifles, cast lead bullets at 200 yards offhand. I try to hunt Kansas white tail deer each fall. My favorite caliber for hunting is 8x57 Mauser, I have 2, one is pre WW1 the other is 1933 proofed.

Hey mike that sound like an awsome battery you have there if you like chatting about hunting cals and rifles you can pm me any time i am some kind of a rifle loony from the other side of the pond . one of my all time favorites is the 7mm mauser/275 rigby/7x57 allong with some others .

Hey yamoon. Good on you for liking the 8x57 Mauser. For some 40 years plus I've been using a variety of ex mil German Mauser rifles in unmolested condition. I currently have an 8x57 Portugeuse Vergueiro Mauser and use it for sambar deer hunting. Enjoy the TSD website...it's a good one.
