introducing myself (new hunter, French Alps)

hi,
I became a hunter in 2025. My initial motivation was to contribute to the regulation of wild boar population, which has become overabundant in my area, in the French Alps. I've been using a Tikka T3x chambered in 9.3x62 for driven hunts (with lead-free ammo) and a Sako S20 in .308 Win (for practicing shooting at a lower cost and for small game). I have learned a lot from this forum, so I decided to join.

Welcome - you live in a beautiful area.

Bienvenu des Pyrénées Orientales!

My friend who lives in the Alps says that there is little or nothing left to shoot at around where he lives due to the return of the wolves.

Fortunately we don't have that problem around here, but we do have the outbreak of swine fever near Barcelona worryingly close.

Bonne journée.
