Introduction to the group

Good morning all,

Just a little introduction, I’ve came across the forum many times generally with searching reviews on clothing/equipment etc.
I’ve been shooting game and wildfowl from a young age, now in my thirties. I live in Northern Ireland and have recently taken up deer stalking. Just recently back from a stalking trip in the highlands. I have my DSC1 booked for the coming months and looking into getting my first deer calibre rifle. So I’ve joined the forum to be able to ask questions and read through posts of like minded people. Being fairly new to stalking, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome from Surrey. You will enjoy DSC1. If you already have done some shooting, that will not be a problem. I did the pre-DSC Shooting course ahead of my course which I found useful as a current refresher. On my DSC course there were experienced shots with rifles who failed the shooting so its worth it (in my opinion).

Yes I’ve several mates that have done their dsc and they all said the same, there seems to be quite a lot fail the shooting. I’m also a member of a rifle club so I intend on going for some practice in the coming weeks. But I think nerves get the better of people when being assessed.
