Hi all. Newcomer here.
I have stalked/hunted pretty much all my life, having grown up in South Africa and worked in the safari/hunting industry.
I emigrated to the UK 20 years ago as my parents moved back to Perthshire from SA (mum is a Scottish farmer’s daughter), and I ended up working for Fieldsports Mag and The Scottish Sporting Gazette. Now work for a clothing/apparel brand in the shooting/fieldsports sector.
Since moving to the UK, I have shot (game) and fished a lot, but have done only a modest amount of stalking - mainly roe and muntjac, in Leicestershire (home) and Perthshire (my parents). But I am keen to do more, so have recently acquired a second rifle (in addition to my old Steyr Mannlicher .270 which I inherited from my grandfather) - a Sauer 100 in 6.5 Creedmoor. As this is also a new calibre to me, I am keen to learn more and compare notes with others on ammo, bullets and loads.
Looking forward to ‘meeting’ fellow stalkers.
Thanks in advance
Marcus
