I have stalked roe in the North East for 50 years now and still have seven patches in Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland and try to get out once a week. My interest is not confined to the stalking aspect but includes research, reading, photography and filming, writing and giving talks about the roe. I suppose I have learned one or two things along the way but it fascinates me that the learning never stops, and nor does the delight and pleasure of simply being out in 'nature' generally. Last night a stunning evening filming five hares dashing and chasing and trying to decide who fitted where in the scheme of things and then spotting three roe feeding out in the field beyond. For the technical minded I use a 30 year old CZ .243 which I bought some years ago unseen at auction for 110.00 quid and it will see me out. On top there is a Burris 3X-9X scope which gives my one eye - thankfully the right, some help. Have stuck with Sako Gamehead for some years now preferring the 90g to the 100g. I look forward to joining in. Cheers oneeyedandeaf.
