Hi All. I've been shooting all my life and stalking and hunting [deer, antelope, boar, moose, etc.] for the last 25 years or so. I mostly shoot deer to control numbers for farmers in the West of England close to where I live. My preferred calibre is 6.5 x 55 which is heavier than necessary for the smaller deer species I shoot but man enough for the occasional boar! I have recently managed to hunt and shoot all 6 species of UK deer.
