Ir torch

Hi all. I m looking at buying a new ir torch. Tempted by the ludicrous lumens wraith. I notice it has an option to adjust the focal length! Can anyone explain what this means!

I’ve got one and can only assume it is the spot to flood function on the front of the unit. I use if for long range identification as it focuses tightly on an area to coincide with the zoom of your NV scope.
You also have the ability to turn the power down on the tail switch. This allows you to shoot on the least power required but you can dial it up when needed.

Yes the beam is focusable from spot to flood, but the focal length is something different. It is adjusted by slackening the small screw on the neck of the torch.

I remember setting it but had to look up the process-
When you first receive your wraith best performance can be achieved by fine tuning in the field with your night vision, to do this simply screw the rubber lens fully in & loosen the grub screw on the collar to adjust the beam to its tightest point before you get visible artefacts in the image.then simply nip up the grub screw to prevent movement of the collar.
