Is the Lee Breech lock challenger kit worth it?

Their collet dies are excellent. Some of the best ammo I have made is with this die.

However the full length dies in my experience bend the case rather than straighten it and the seating dies are just a joke.

It is possible to make excellent ammunition with basic Lee die sets but only with very diligent load development and tuning seating depth. Personally I would rather start with dies that create straight rounds than waste components compensating for cheapo dies. If everybody measured the case runout nobody would ever use a Lee die.
And yet most people manage to load really accurate ammunition with them, go figure!

I don’t get this criticism of the Lee Package - it is what it is and with reasonable outlay will get you into loading as designed. I have used them for many calibres and have been very pleased with the results. Perhaps if I was more into long range competition target shooting it would be different….

I’m a satisfied Lee Anniversary kit user. Yes, I have ditched the scales for an electronic set, bought the Lee bench primer and carbide dies but all of this was over time as my reloading knowledge, experience and needs developed. Mine was a great price at that time but there are still some good deals to be had:thumb: Before and after shots below……
