It really sucks being left handed!

Since the point was to avoid a left-handed rifle, I didn't think that the right-handedness of those lever actions mattered and I haven't found any disadvantage to using one.
It's entirely immaterial to me which side of the action I reload them from and being a .22 it's not like the ejecting cases are a problem either.

In .22LR - No CZ455 Lefthand.
Only the old CZ452 model in Lefthand (22.5” barrel only)

CZ-USA CZ 452 American - Left Hand - CZ-USA

Interestingly Edgar Bros (see FAQ below) don't recommend shortening CZ barrels as they're choked at the muzzle.

WHAT BARREL LENGTHS ARE CZ RIMFIRE RIFLES AVAILABLE IN?
Here is your answer…

This depends on the model. Lux and Standard models are 22”. American, Varmint, Style, Silhouette are 20”. These models are also available in 16”. We do not recommend the cutting down of any CZ barrel due to the fact that they are hammer forged and are actually choked at the muzzle to maximise accuracy which is one of the reasons CZ rifles are renowned for their accuracy. There is also no guarantee that the bore is actually dead centre to the outside diameter in the middle of the barrel. Shortening the barrel will also invalidate the warranty. CZ rifle barrels are hammer forged from solid billets for that particular barrel length; even the 16” barrel has a special billet for the shorter barrel. If you want a shorter barrel part ex your old rifle and get a new rifle with a new three year guarantee!

These are all right-handed so confirm the point & title of this thread exactly.

my cz452 American was cut down from 22.5” to one rethreading job over the legal limit so around 12.75- 13” I think, it was done bout 5 years ago and still putting round hollow on hole of I do my bit

They will of course recommend new rifle as it’s another sale 🤔

Interesting... does anyone know of a lever-action .22? I would like to avoid a left-handed rifle as such.

The .22 Marlin 39's are ambidextrous and my son uses one left handed, works well for lefties and righties. If you can find a Mountie they're lovely to shoot. Equally he's used my .30-30 Marlin and that works well too, unfortunately I sold it but am just about to get another.

One thing you can't do or rather shouldn't, it's sacrilege, is put a moderator on them! You can of course.

Marlin 39's are one of my favorite 22 cal rifles . They're a bit hard to come by these days and usually go for a premium , but they're worth it . The 336's are also great little rifles and have always been popular with the southpaws . I've had a Marlin 1895 45/70 , in one form or another , for about 40 years now ................ and yes , moderators don't look to attractive on a lever gun IMHO .

Today on Guntrader:

4273 bolt action rifles available.

126 are left handed.

If my maths is correct that's under 3% LH and just over 97% RH.

In relation to my OP that says it all I reckon...

Just a thought. As a left-hander, are we not being discriminated against ? I didn't chose to be left handed, I was born that way. Perhaps we should start a class action against someone like Sako who only of a small proportion of their products in the correct handed version.

Revolution!!! Bring it on shbangsteve!

I doubt though that there’s enough of us to get a meaningful petition going, and right hookers aren’t going to care. Also, we’d all struggle to add our signatures as none of us can write properly, remember? ;-)

I'm a leftie who got wrapped over the knuckles in P6:shock:,she would be done for assault these days. I can still remember the old SPINSTER'S name.
Perhaps as a teacher you could encourage your students to write left handed and add to the ten percent.
If it's anything like the SD it's bound to catch on and everyone will want to be one :Djohn

Have done it John! I don't actually write left handed (but don't tell anyone as i won't be accepted by either club!) but have encouraged left handers in my classes to develop their writing skills regardless. Has been met with some consternation from other, usually older, teachers but sod 'em. As I mentioned before my own mother tried forcing my young un to write with his other hand claiming he would be disadvantaged. Turns out she was right! Cow! ;-)
