Having already walked the dogs at 04:00 hours this morning, and having then been unable to fire up the power washer for the truck,😖 I decide to head off again for a bit of a yomp with the dogs.

Just at the spot where I let them off their leads, and let them run riot into the forest...I spy something that catches my eye.

Bit of old pipe or something more interesting?

I drop down into the ditch, and begin to execute my finely tuned archaeological skills.

It is the work of a moment.

Funny how the simple things can give a man pleasure.

I manage to get it home in one piece, and wash it (by hand) in luke-warm water. Using your wife's dishwasher on 'full wack' is dangerous on two fronts. It upsets your wife and it can (and did) break a previous 'find" - ask me how I know.

Just a silly little thing, but it has rather made my morning.

That's rather cool.
A friend found an old small glass bottle.
It was stoutly made and would of made a nice small powder flask but he would not let me have it. Miserable s.....

I have one like that somewhere. Does it have a stamp on the bottom?

In my village a bottle "dump" from very many years ago was discovered, it appears all unwanted glass and china was dumped there. I got quite a collection of different bottles from it, it was quite a large area.

I know of a pit where the soldiers leaving for d day through their rubbish. Some interesting stuff I've found are knives, spoons and forks some plates and tins

Did you find a pair of shoes?
You always see one of a pair on the side of the road. Only the other day I noticed a well made walking boot on the side of the lane. Only the one! Where's the other? How do they just lose one?
