Any one going to this years IWA? Apparently quite a few companies won't show. Blaser called off shows before Covid already if i understood right, Beretta and several others won't show. Life goes on, others will replace these if they decide to "quit". It was similar at the shot show, business went to those that were there.
Anyway we booked flights hoping they won't call off in the last minute. Covid still seems rampant in the area. All or most of the contacts I have in the German trade are not vaccinated and can therefore not enter the show....
Bavarianbrit : we'll be at the show on Thursday & Friday, any plans to go? We'll only be in Marktredwitz in the evenings after the show.

Klaus said he would not go this year, that was last Saturday when I visited him, no mask rule in his shop some wear and some don't, saw it as I was there for two days. I am tempted just to to get some show time again at IWA as it just gets mind numbingly boring hiding in safe enclaves like my village. BTW Bavaria is opening up all shops etc.
Here is the Bavarian authorities statement. Valid from 9th Feb after Feb 23rd who knows :-

Corona rules: What applies in Munich and Bavaria

The currently valid 15th Infection Protection Measures Ordinance has been extended until February 23, 2022. On February 9th, some relaxations have come into effect, e.g. for events, swimming pools and restaurants. Here is all the information on the current rules and their impact on schools, restaurants, events, culture, leisure and sports.
For trade fairs, the 2G plus rule is in effect. NEW since February 9th: The limit for visitors has been increased to a maximum of 25.000 people per day.

Bars, clubs, discotheques, brothels and similar establishments are currently closed again. I I thought you would like to know the last bit. ;)

Restaurants are open I presume, thats the important bit. Anyway, Feb 23 (I heard Feb 26) there will be new announcements so all up in the air. Let's see how the people at IWA behave. Shot show it was mask mostly, no masks on some stands. All back to hand shakes. The Safari Convention in Vegas was no masks and all hand shakes.
Germans generally love to be sick, they will brag about their illnesses all day long, one reason I think they will want to hang onto this Covid as long as they can.
