I have just got back from a trip to Dortmund to the Jagd und Hund show - what a fantastic event. Well worth a visit to see so many exhibitors- all the rifle manufacturers, clothing shops & purveyors of all sorts of stalking & boar shooting kit that you could need (& never knew that you did…) It is an easy drive from Calais - first weekend of February in 2027 is in the diary.

It really is a good show. Shame we couldn't make it this year because we were out hunting in the UK (from Holland).
Really got to appreciate shooting with thermal when we were out for muntjac, so now.looking into buying one or two. Would have liked to be able to compare all the available options, will be hard to find somewhere else where we can.

You could fly Ryanair into Birmingham in two weeks for the shooting show in the NEC. Thomas Jacks will have a stand and lots more there.

Thank you for the tip, but the next 6 weeks we are bound to Holland, so we'll need to find a dealer who has most brands in stock.

I went there for the first time last year with a group of mates. A very enjoyable long weekend.
A year has flown by since our visit to J&H. It was great weekend. Looking forward to meeting up for the hunting show in Norway in March.

In Oslo? I went once in the 80s-90s by train from Gothenburg cannot remember the date but the railside was swimming with nice roe..

There Thursday and Friday great show as usual. Trains not so good, if they don't improve it will affect show numbers.

There was a total public transport strike over here on Monday but not the trains (they do a cheap monthly ticket since covid which has hammered the capacity on non ICE trains.

It's in the Oslo area. i visited over 20 years ago. I'm driving up with my hunting mate and a mate is flying in from the UK so four of us let loose on the flesh pots of Oslo, or not.

What size is the Norway show ?

Missed J&H this year so a possibility
It's not on a par with J&H, but I'm sure it will give a insight into the Norwegian hunting scene. There are two game fairs in Sweden this year. The Swedish Game Fair up Stockholm way at the end of May plus a new Game Fair down here in Skåne the third weekend in May. A hours drive from me so will be giving it a visit.
