I know a John Dodd who shoots, and is a completely different guy to the one mentioned in the article. He’s an RFD and ran a rifle club. He remortgaged his house in the 1980s to buy the land for the club. A stand up bloke, much older than the rapist.

The guy is from north of Inverness, has been contract stalking and fencing for a number of years and is from that area. Maybe shouldn't put up links to people that are not him, the second link is most certainly not him and should be deleted given the seriousness of the case. It's not an uncommon name so need to make sure the wrong person is not getting linked to this.

WRT the first shot missed: personally, I’m not a believer in taking someone out without first checking the guest’s rifle is zeroed - a simple precautionary measure, which saves later disappointment, or worse. It also gives the guide an insight into the abilities of the guest.

What is rather more concerning is that the convicted party is (-was) a FAC holder.
