SWMBO has been muttering about why I’ve got stuff in the wardrobe I don’t wear so decided to have a look to see if I could earn some brownie points with her 🤔

It seems she may be right 😳

Here goes!

LOAKE BOOTS NOW SOLD !!

Loake 290-T chestnut brown Chelsea boots in size 10 with an F fitting - these were bought without trying them on as being a bloke I assumed that because I already have two pairs of Loake brogues that the fit would be the same for the same size… wrong! I have only worn these once as they are too narrow for me across the toe.

These don’t seem to be available in brown any more just black & with a retail price of £220.

How does £125 posted sound?

A pair of Roxton Sporting tweed shooting breeks. These were bought for me (I believe at great expense but have never dared to ask) but regrettably are too big.

They are consequently new & unworn & have been residing in a drawer for far too long.

I can’t see any label with a size on it but they measure 42” across the waist when buttoned up. For those who want to know, the inside leg measures 23” & they are unlined.

£75 posted.

From Roxtons in Hungerford, probably back in the days when they had a gunsmith onsite and a proper shooting clothing department.

They would indeed have been very expensive - I bought a pair in their sale one year, and if these are the same they will be a lovely soft tweed, not the cheap scratchy type stuff.

Sadly these are too big for me, and I’m working on reducing my waist measurement, but best of luck with the sale.

SOLD

And there’s more…

Complete ‘ensemble’ of Musto tweed shooting attire - not sure what name the tweed is but is has a double line with four colours - red, green, orange & lilac & has a stunning red lining.

I’d prefer to sell this as whole lot for £275 posted. That would be for the following:

Tweed shooting waistcoat size XXL, measures 18” across the shoulders, 25” pit to pit & 34.5” neck to hem.

It has inside pockets as well as outside ones, an adjustable waist & a pocket in the right shoulder for a recoil pad (included).

This has been used but is in excellent condition & has been dry cleaned not long before going back in the wardrobe.

To go with the above set, a peaked cap size 59cm / 7 1/4” - looks scruffy in the pics as it’s been folded up in the inside pocket of the jacket so it didn’t get lost! A bit of steam & it’ll be back in shape.

The breeks now.

These have been worn more than the rest but along with the jacket (to follow) were still on the hanger in the plastic wrap from the dry cleaners!

Waist is 38”, inside leg 23.5” & they’re lined.

(Mark on the leg below is a shadow from the fold where they’ve been on the hanger.)

And finally, for now at least, the jacket/blazer.

This is single breasted with inside pockets. Its size 44” & measures 20” across the shoulders, 23.5” pit to pit, pit to cuff is 19” & collar to hem is 34”. Unfortunately it’s not a ‘Norfolk’ cut so doesn’t have the gussets on the shoulder at the back.

Comes with a spare button & swatch of material for mending rips & holes!
