Kennel heater

Yes K it really makes it cosier for them.

hey I have to say that you are possibly feeding your dog too much if he is sitting in his kennel and there is an untouched bowl of dry tucker waiting.
Agreed. Mine would have already eaten a whole load of food before they were able to sit there without touching that bowl. Greedy bar stewards the lot of them!

An overhead heat lamp works, the same as they have for piglets, the heat is focussed and if ther is enough space around the dog can move to a cooler area. I would also look at good insulation whilst providing ventilation will be welcomed by the dog. Good bedding he, ps, shredded paper from an office is good when the dog is wet, it soaks up the water quickly and gets warm quickly. I am sure that you will get many answers to this one.

I thought that, even if he was hungry it’s still too much, mine get a half bean tin for breakfast and the other half for dinner. Breakfast sets them up for the day and dinner so they don’t go to bed on an empty tum. Found they poo better for it, once a day nice and firm. Also a minty dental chew around mid day to keep the pearlies clean and freshen the breath.

Works very well lots of energy, no scrounging and deffo no obese Labs.

Not sure about the effectiveness of the 'minty chew' when compared to the many deer bones my own have, there is nothing better for dogs gob health than good bones to chew on...ask a wolf or a dingo!

I used to feed raw beef leg bones cut into thirds so they could get the marrow out but noticed the teeth being prematurely worn, this was many dogs ago. Present dogs just get the occasional marrow section now.

Lol. It's weird he eats it every other day after his evening run .like clockwork. I put it out in the morning after his morning run and he doesn't touch it till bout 8pm?? On his meat days ( every other day) he gets all sorts of game and it's gone within seconds lol. The feckers not impressed with the dry stuff lol

Grandad use very large sherry barrels and the heaters were chicken red heater lights with mesh to stop the buggers burning there heads as they stayed out all year long heaters were only on in winter lol.

This is what my dog lives in, but I'm a soft git and he's got a washable bed in it,
I like the carpet over the door idea John, that's a little job for me to sort out over the weekend

Nice idea

I put some carpet over the hole into the bed box. The little sod ripped it down so did it again same thing. Think it's because he likes to sit in it and look out.
