The sainted Lady FB and your hero are off to visit thon place for a week; apart from the usual “must-do” places like the salt mines and Auschwitz (which I am not doing, awful as it is, on the basis that I have been to Berlin’s Sachenhausen which was plenty of evidence of what the verminous nazis did) are there any ahem, “interesting spots” for SD types to visit which might require, err…. ear defenders 💥💥💥💥💥💥, if you get my drift?
For clarity I do not mean niteclubs….

Middle of the town square no less… BROŃ

Plenty of stuff in the town is free to visit (churches, ghetto, wawel castle…) be sure to try some loca food and beer 👌

And get the Bolt app on your phone for amazingly cheap transport (a la uber) from airport and around the town.

I went to this place and really enjoyed it 👍 Lots of the ranges seem to be a bit touristy and you get to shoot a 1911, AR or AK but chambered in 22LR

I called to make sure they were open to the public then ubered there, walked in and was handed a thick laminated book of pistols and a second book of long guns. Plenty of choice, maybe too much! I went for a Glock of some description, a 1911, then an AR15. The instructor asked if I was happy after and asked if I wanted any more shooting.........I bought another 3 full mags for the AR, 90 rounds of 223 😅

I stopped moaning to the wife about £100 the horse and carriage around the old town cost after 😅 I think I spent £150 in about 20minutes

My only regret was not shooting the double barreled 1911 🤔

If you are there in winter then the Christmas market is good and there are a few shooting ranges where you can have a go with some proper kit!!
Like you auschwitz is a place I don’t want to go to, purely because I don’t think I could spent time in a place where such horrors took place - it’s not for tourists imho, but there are nice places around and the city is lovely

I did Auschwitz twice, the original camp then later the Birkenau lager as I had work commitments nearby so felt that I had to pay my respects.
Over one million visitors per year go there as every Polish schoolkid has to go but German visitors number in the low thousands.
 
Krakow is a much nicer city to visit than Warsaw. It's a long day to do the Auschwitz/Birkenau trip and as you've already experienced a similar site, not essential. The Wieliczka Salt mine and Cathedral is a definite if you get the chance. Schindler's Factory is OK and try and use one of the little "Golf Buggy" type of transports - they're a hoot! The Cloth market is an interesting place to buy all sorts of tat, but enjoyable. The Jewish quarter is an interesting walkabout. Much of Krakow is walkable if you're feeling energetic, but you could always treat Her Majesty to a ride in one of the horse drawn carriages.
On another note, be aware of getting your cards skimmed/cloned- this was one of the reasons why I got a protected wallet from @T.eddie - I know it can happen anywhere, but....
Oh yeah.....things that go bang.....Top Gun and CSK Shooting Range (both have websites). I was also impressed by the number of folk who speak very good English (apparently much more popular than German used to be!). Enjoy.:tiphat:

Yep I totally understand the respect but Lady FB has made it clear that we she shed enough tears at Sachsenhausen - particularly in the Genickschussanlage (neck shooting facility) which utterly beggars belief that man could be so evil towards his fellows.
Strangely not too many germans seem to visit it either…..

In the original camp buildings one was a "courthouse" with cells in the basement. A Polish priest had helped inmates to escape he was caught and the sentence?
To be held in the cell and given only water till he died which took around 30ish days, that shook me to the core.
