Kuiu … Which jacket?

Looking to purchase a Kuiu jacket and possibly trousers. Mid to lightweight and waterproof. What’s your recommendations? Do their sizes run true?

I have a Kuiu Axis Hybrid and really rate it.
It runs small so you need to size up, most of the Kuiu stuff will have reviews on the product which will give sizing feedback.
The Axis is not designed for heavy downpours but I have been caught in some pretty heavy showers and it’s kept me dry.
I originally bought it as a spring and to autumn jacket but ended up using it all year round which is why I sold my Stoney Creek Tundra due to lack of use.
If you are looking for a jacket to cope with worst weather the Kutana is probably the one to go for.

I have the Guide, Yukon (verde) and Kutana (ash). All excellent jackets. The Yukon is my favourite as it has a collar, really great cuffs and elbow pads, plus two extra pockets. Kutana is also great and just as waterproof, both are incredibly durable, you can really bust through thick stuff without worry. also worth saying the Yukon is quieter than the Kutana. Good luck with your choice, they are the best!!!

I emailed kuiu asking them what their quietest she’ll jacket was. It’s the Chugach TR if of any interest. I don’t have one.

Sizing in the Yukon is like for like. If you normally wear a shirt, order a large jacket. They are sized to go over layers.

I’m not a lover of camo of late, but the Valo pattern is appealing for winter woodland stalking. No doubt good in dry grass as well

My buddy has the Chugach, it is quiet but very lite. I’d definitely go with the Yukon. I’m a 40 in a suit jacket and all my Kuiu jackets are M. I have no issue with wearing two long sleeve Ts (usually a peloton and a swazi fleece) when it’s cold I’ll add either a long sleeve fleece or a schoffel gilet

How much is a new Yukon?
I've had one for 4 or 5 years now and it's been a good coat, I paid around 280 quid, my mate recons they're around 500 now, not sure I'd pay that.

Axis is a great jacket but not 109% waterproof. All the Kuiu gear is well thought out Stalkers I know in Scotland use Yukon or Chugga in the highlands. If that helps. I have a Filson for waterproofing layer of carry a poncho to put on top of the axis
