Kuiu Yukon Jacket - Sizing and reviews

Been looking at these for a while now, as it ticks pretty much all the boxes for me (3l shell jacket, pit zips, softish brush outer, and finally in block colours - the bourbon is just about perfect for me), not to mention their lifetime warranty which I've heard they honour well unlike some brands.

I'm slim 36" chest, and the smallest they offer is a medium which is a 40" chest. Does anyone on here have a medium Yukon jacket that could kindly send me some measurements of the jacket?

Any reviews welcome too...

I can’t comment on sizing, but according to relatives in the States who had them, they are a little on the flimsy side - very comfortable and waterproof, but get damaged fast if you do much crawling or pushing through dense vegetation.

This is a pretty common problem with a lot of the US brands, which are designed primarily for a market that only hunts for 5-10 days a year. The gear is beautiful and well designed, but generally not made to deal with extended hard field use.

Look in the reviews section of each Kuiu item on their website and you should find sizing feedback for that specific garment.

I am normally an XL but after reading the reviews it said to size upt and I opted for a XXL Kuiu Axis Hybrid and it fits perfectly.

Yukon looks to run a size small too.

Plenty info on here just search, issues with cuffs I believe.
I have been looking around again, to add to my clothing, looked at First Lite and KUIU, but have come back to Sitka Gear
Cheers

First Lite is fantastic for thermals and mid layers - just about the best I think. That’s what they made their name with.

For outer layers, there are much better - the Scandi and NZ brands are better.

I had one and it was not a jacket I would call flimsy in any way
I sold mine as it was too much of a jacket for my needs and the neoprene seals on the cuff were a bit of a daft water trapping idea I thought.
they are well made and designed as an outer shell. That is worn over a puffer or soft shell so they run a bit bigg
I am L or XL in clothing in Kuiu XL runs snug
so went XXL in the Axis Hybrid and it’s roomy to allow a good fleece or my peleton under it

they do other rain gear as well - the guy who does the Kuiu Europe stuff Pedro uses the Chuggah I understand

I've got a yukon in med, also being a 36 id say it fits perfect with room to wear a down jacket underneath. Certainly durable and the best waterproof jacket I've ever had

My First Lite SEAK jacket is fully waterproof and very durable for a waterproof jacket. Much better in my opinion than my older Yukon.
My Yukon was quite fitted and not as generous for layering as I’m used to.

Do you know of a distributor of first lite for the UK? I aimed first lite direct and they said they didn't have anyone and don't ship to the UK albeit they are looking at it in the future

There's a GLARING business opportunity going to waste here, surley an "American Friend" can be buying Firstlite gear and posting it over hear with "Gift" on the wrapping?!!

.....must need a lot of looking at, I asked them the exact same question and got the exact same answer about 12 months ago!!

Ive got the Yukon Jacket and some jackets I have are Large and some XL, I opted for the XL in the Yukon and it fits well, I will also say I been in some terrible weather with the the Yukon trousers and jacket and never let me down, I also have the Guide set which I don't rate at all but then they don't advertise it as waterproof so I should have took the plunge with the Yukon straight away.

The Yukon is sized to go over layers underneath. The sizing allows for layering. I’m normally a L in Kuiu for a snug fit. Opted for the XL and it is a bit baggy for my liking. It goes over the super down jacket a treat though without compressing the down. If I could choose again, I’d get my normal size in the Yukon.

It’s not the quietest of jackets, but what noise there is hasn’t been much of problem when stalking or sat in a highseat
