Labrador Dog Name - Suggestions

I was going to suggest naming him after the Dambusters predecessor out of respect to our heroes

I considered naming my own dog that, but I lived in a less rural part of the West Midlands then so shouting him / at him would have likely resulted in a nose bleed.

Slugger or Bumper, just names that immediately came to mind when looking at the picture.

I've been saving up names and I always said that if I ever had another black Labrador it would be called Zulu. If I ever have another GWP it will be called Mauser. Generally though when ever I have had a pup I never really think about it and a name immediately springs to mind depending how the dog looks to me at the time.

Very good looking lab’. Wish you great hunts and family moments with him.
I notice that names suggested were with all kinds of first letter.
Across the channel there is a strong tradition to use one first letter per year (R for 2020, S for 2021,...), as instructed by the LOF (official dog genealogy database). It is also quite handy to know a dog’s age by his name.
Not the case in UK ?
