Anyone’s dog had water tail, limp tail etc.
dog was out and in water a lot yesterday and she is definitely limp in the tail.
from what I can see it should recover I. A few days.
has anyone else had it and is there any treatment for it.
Or does she need the vet for it.
thabks folks

Mine had similar after jumping off a bank into water a few times whilst retrieving duck
Vet said sprained tail and gave anti inflammatory jab and it settled down ok
loxicom or metacam or other pain/anti inflam should help

Yes. A sad sight! It got better on its own, or she may have a small dose of paracetamol in her food for a few days. Just one of those things.

My working lab used to get it (limber tail) quite often. No vet visits required but can be quite uncomfortable for the dog. Just keep them warm & dry until recovered properly.

Usually sorts itself in a few days. however it can be very painful. Be careful with Human drugs like paracetamol etc.
They are used on occasion by vets when dosage based on body weight are carefully calculated. Always use the doggie versions where possible.

good evening my vet called it rudder tail as the dog sprains it using it as a "rudder" when swimming ,painful for the dog so some pain killing meds should be given.

Paracetamol is OK, but something like metacam is better. It usually self cures (unless @srvet has anyting new)
Nothing more to add, painful but normally sorts itself out. Paracetamol and NSAIDS like metacam are different and can be used together if need be so long as the doses are appropriate
