LANTAC LA-SF15 Charging Handle Compatibility?

Team,

I’ve just taken up mini rifle, so I am modifying my lovely Lantac from an over engineering vermin control rifle to something more suited to speed-shooting.

One of the things I want to change is the charging handle, as I am a leftie (shooting grip - not politically!). I was looking at “WARHAMMER MOD2 AMBIDEXTROUS CHARGING HANDLE” by Breek Arms.

I think because Lantac’s are milspec receivers, with a CMMG bolt, then this should just drop in. Can anyone confirm this is the case?

Many thanks!

Any milspec charging handle should be fine to use in it as Lantac produce milspec receivers. The CMMG kit is designed to work with milspec charging handles.
I have a Radian ambi in mine, but did swap it to another gun and dropped a stock LMT charging handle in temporarily which worked fine as well.
Just for info some ambi charging handles are not 100% the same size on boths sides of the gun. My Radian is a bit larger on the left than right. I have not looked at a Warhammer though.

Mega thank you!

I’m less worried about it being lopsided as, frankly, it’s more about ‘the rule of cool’ rather than functionality… I doubt it will make a big difference to my mini rifle scores!

I mentioned the lopsidedness as mine has a right handed shooter bias despite being ambi. I.e. it is easier to operate with your left hand, whilst your right is holding the pistol grip. Being lefty it may not suit you as well.
For more cool bits have a look at "magload" and "marlin spares" websites. Lots of upgrade/go faster bits available. Scores will still be Indian based but doesn't hurt having the coolest looking arrow.

Thanks - I’m rocking a black and FDE colour scheme, so I’ve upgraded plenty of bits already. Just the selector switch (going for a Magpul AMBI setup), forward assist (Strike), charging handle, trigger guard (a Strike fang), castle nut, and extended mag catch (Odin) to go. I’m not a fan of the go-faster IPSC stuff, as it’s just not ‘tacti-cool’!

The IPSC bits are good if you want to go full competition mode but yes it then does look very comp gun esq.
I would probably buy a spare firing pin as a minimum for the range bag though as they do just fail giving you lots of light strikes. You may find your extractor chips at some point as well, but they tend to keep running with that issue.

Already done and in the bits box, as the original firing pin spring disintegrated. Despite being in two pieces, the gun still functioned fine - I only discovered it during routine cleaning!

Useful stuff on the extractor though.

I've the black rifle company X-lite ambi charging handle on my Tippmann. It's symmetrical, the Tippmann is Mil-spec like your rifle, and I shoot left handed like you.

Straight blowback doesn't need extractor for extraction per se, just as pivot point for the brass ejection.

But you might not be able to extract unfired cartridge, if extractor gets damaged. Something to keep in mind.

Tippman use a proprietary charging handle design, as does the M&P 1522. Black rifle do a nice charging handle for both and a milspec one, but the three are not interchangeable with each other.

This is what sold me on the Lantac/CMMG solution - I’m very impressed by the build quality, and the availability of parts from centre-fire manufacturers is great.

I believe the gen 3 use a different one but it is shorter than milspec and has three pairs of "flairs" along it's length to hold it in the top channel compared to the single pair on milspec. But happy to be corrected if I am wrong?

The lefthand one is for an AR10, which is longer due to the bigger cartridge. The middle and righthand ones are for an AR15. You can see the Radian has uneven handles, I remembered them the wrong way around though, the right side is longer. I would guess it is desgined so you don't stab yourself with it when the rifle is slung across the body.
