Good morning all,

looking for a large ammunition safe of stout construction, preferably close to Newbury.

Does anyone have anything available?

Sorry, I don't have anything, but I bought this safe, not the cheapest, but well made, AND you can buy additional shelves.

Ammunition Safe

Spare Shelf

I also have a Bratton Sound 7 gun safe, that I wasn't using, and decided to fit shelves, and use that for ammunition. Maybe find a used safe on Ebay, pull the foam out, and fit shelves.

I bought some ally right angle, cut to length, and pop riveted them in place, then just used some 12mm ply for the shelves.

If I did it again, I think I'd use nuts/bolts rather than rivets.

Find yourself a second hand shotgun safe, the type for guns with barrel & stock taken apart. To fit shelves all you need is some 3mm ply, cut a width that suits the depth of the safe & then cut to lengths for width & spacing between shelves. Put a piece on either side inside & then rest the shelf on top before repeating for the next shelf. If you want to make sure it’s stable either use some wood glue on the joints or a dab of sealer on the uprights to hold them in place, but I’ve found the weight of the ammo on the shelf is usually sufficient to retain structural integrity.
