Large capacity cabinets

question for SD members,

I need to increase my current gun cabinet capacity, which is a bratton sound 4-5 gun extra deep safe with internal ammo safe. I have filled it.
recommendations on make model and link to uk supplier; when considering the following factors, please;

1) location, it will be up stairs on modern floored joists, so a 935lbs Winchester big daddy safe won’t work for example 😢.

2) going by my experience of most cabinets, to comfortably squeeze in (with out knocking them ) say 10 guns you really should look at a what the manufacturer would denote as a ”20 gun capacity” and leave a gap between each, so something in that region will work for my future needs. plus won’t go past 10 to avoid having to implement increased / level 2 security requirements, as per home office guideline.

3) cost; don’t want to spend lots def sub 1k preferably around the £500 mark. (in time I may refubish a study I use and would like to buy at that point a wooden furniture gun cabinet piece so this is a stop gap for a good few years, not a forever safe deal).

4) security - guns inc scopes etc worth a fair bit (to me) to replace so something hard to get into and difficult to move preferred.

5) needs to accommodate up to 5 rifles scoped, 5 shotguns and a shelf for suppressors plus internal ammo safe.

appreciate I may be asking a lot, but greatful to hear about your own experiences and recommendations.

many thanks in advance.

I could go down that route but would prefer 1 safe as it’s easier to fasten in the location I host it in. New preferable, but would consider used.

Four in the house here, 3in one lockable room, 1in another lockable room. Might a second location be found and/or be convenient?

Have one built. There is a police guidance document on line. However there was a cock up on lock location. Listed as a quarter from the bottom and a third from the bottom. Did point this out to the police . They agreed should be 1/4 and 3/4 or 1/3 and 2/3 from bottom. 7 lever lock. I built my own which is a slid fit in the cupboard

Yeh, tbh, I have grammed 3 rifles and 3 shotguns already in the current (nose to tail, and all the other jenga tricks applied) one so buying a second cabinet would just about deliver for current needs but no space for extra guns- which may come in due. don’t want to end up with multiple cabinets if possible.

Anyone with experience of the larger type safes from bratton sound / infac safes / buffalo river, or others? 10 guns plus Capacity.

I went through the same thing 6 months ago. Ended up buying one of the above, although they do seem to have gone up by £100 since. I have 8 scoped rifles and three shotguns in there. It's comfortable space wise. You could certainly get 3 or 4 more shotguns in there comfortably but it would be a bit of a squeeze to get any more rifles in.

Thanks. I take it no problem with long barrel guns 32” or semi autos etc?. Also is there sufficient depth / clearance with the side and back of the safe when leaning a rifle with large front optic 56mm scope? Hard to tell from photos.

My large scoped rifles are fine with plenty of depth, but no space for two rows of them. If all your guns were large scoped rifles with bipods on the safe would take a single row of 10 or 11.

As stated above, go multiple safes. I started with an RL5+, then bought and RL7+, then bought a second RL7+ and use all three. I once looked at two Titans (10 rifle safes), but dismissed it due to costs and my current arrangement working.

Split safes by guns / shooting disciplines.

Just ordered a Lokaway 14 -18 safe, from Philip Morris & son, seems the Infacs are on 4 week lead if you are lucky, & the "Other" stockists that have a suitable item on display don't arrange deliveries.

Cheers, had a look at the 18-20 gun version of this. Tempted but prices have gone up recently. Not sure about scoped rifle in these?

I use a 15 gun cabinet from CLAY SHOOTERS SUPPLIES, 01858 466616. looked their shop up on tinternet just now and they offer a made to measure service of what ever cabinet you need? My cabinet I bought in the 80s from my then local shop, it will take scoped rifles and shot guns and has a lockable internal box.

BC.

I've just ordered a brattonsound extra deep

It is only a 7 gun cabinet but that now makes 3 in total - a 5 rifle cabinet, a 4 shotgun cabinet and now a 7 Rifled one @350mm deep

House will have more holes than an edam !!
