Large capacity cabinets

Got a buffalo 10 gun. Nicely built. Bit of a load to manoeuvre - wouldn't fancy taking it up stairs. Bought to accomodate my long 223 and shotguns. Because the internal safe sits to one side and the shelf is removable you can keep long guns one side, and shorter rimmys on the other. Only downsides are price and the massive door - won't close against a wall so need to set out a bit from the wall or place the box on opposite wall

I like the look of these. how realistic is it to get 10 in.? Would it hold 5 scoped rifle 5 shotguns?

I use a 15 gun cabinet from CLAY SHOOTERS SUPPLIES, 01858 466616. looked their shop up on tinternet just now and they offer a made to measure service of what ever cabinet you need? My cabinet I bought in the 80s from my then local shop, it will take scoped rifles and shot guns and has a lockable internal box.

BC.
I like Sean at Clayshooters. A nicer and more helpful guy you couldn't meet.

Thanks for all the responses. good to hear about the experience some of you have had with the models I was considering.

long term I’m keen on getting a large safe as part of the furniture in the future, the bespoke gun cabinet company are a favourite style but their prices have increased substantially over the past few years and are probably out of reach for me now. I also like the traditional “bank safe” style American safes like; Maverick Gun Safes | Fort Knox Europe Ltd but not sure FAO would allow this to be displayed in a room?

for now I think another bratton sound rl7+ might be a good stop gap.

Oops double post

I went for a second Brattonsound RL7+, bolted them together and to the wall.
I customised mine with led lighting and heaters, very pleased with them

Bit of a con TBH. struggle to fit three scoped rifles and a shotgun in without bashing them
A ten gun cabinet is for 10 shotguns, most will have storage across the back and on the sides. Realistically they will be 5-6 scoped rifles and if you have side parallax adjustment on your scopes it will be even less.

Have the 14 gun and it sits upstairs, if I ever move it's staying here :oops: almost killed me and a m8 moving it.

At the start of this thread there was mention of extra security requirements for upwards of 10 guns, is that section 1 only? The reason I ask is that I am temporarily holding an additional 4 shotguns on my SGC as a friend's father passed away and my friend isn't a shooter, I currently hold 8 shotguns and 3 rifles. Would appreciate any knowledgable advice.

I was in a similar situation with my shooting partner who passed away, but I helped his widow get a temporary certificate allowing her to hold and sell / transfer. This was done quite quickly following notification to the FLD of her husbands passing and a physical visit to Lincolnshire FLD.

Your friend could do the same? The difference may be that his fathers house is now empty?
If it's temporary, which it is by the sounds of it, unless your planning to keep them, then it may be no more than a quick phone call or e-mail. Depends on how long it is before temporary becomes permanent.
