For Sale: Leech & Sons 28 bore S/S boxlock.

A very nice and rare example of a William Leech & Sons non-ejector shotgun in 28 gauge, with good engraving, and clean bores. The stock has been neatly extended to give a 14 3/4 inch stock length, with good figuring in the wood. The fore-end has a horn finial and the chequering is tidy. The gun has been sleeved so the barrels are in excellent condition, the sleeving join is almost invisible and the blue-ing is very good. The gun was originally made by Holloways of Birmingham and has been well looked after. Chokes are 1/8 and 1/8. The case is 'leather' and wood, with brass bound corners and is in excellent condition. Weight is 5lb 6oz, and barrels are 28" long. Crisp opening and closing and tight to the face, this is a super gun in a sought after calibre, that isn't currently seeing enough use. RFD transfer possible.

W leech and son made some lovely SS back in the day I still have some of there paper carts, Sadly there no more but the old shop is still there selling guns under the name the Causeway .

This is a super little 28 bore which has an unusually long stock, so suits adults rather than just junior shots! It patterns very well, and I have been using it with success on pheasants and partridge using 16g size 6. Good for clays too, especially if you don't like a heavy gun or lots of recoil. It's for sale as I have moved over to rifles, so it is gathering dust and deserves more use. I believe 28 bores were used by Sir Joseph Nickerson, and Prince Charles.

Beautiful and capable gun, I have my fathers which is very similar to this, points beautifully and a joy to carry, I've shot both driven and walked up grouse with it
