I am in the process of putting together a small pamphlet that seeks to ensure those in receipt of the free venison I give them don't make the mistake of simply attempting to cook it as they might lamb or pork. The point being it only takes one bad experience of tough and dry venison to ensure the unfortunate 'victim' never goes near the stuff again.
