7mm rem mag dont over look it bud 162a max at near 3000fps at 1000yards still has a lot off thump i was going to get a 300win mag but after comparing balisticks the 7mm was better look it upfor most things far far away
I personally did this comparison and went the complete opposite way
The velocity maths don't stack up
7RM runs out of weight class at 170-175gr
Like for like barrel lengths the 300WM will throw heavier bullets at similar velocities
where the 7s get my vote is on 180-190gr VLD bullets with G7 BCs 0.35-0.38 (G1s of 0.67-0.7!!)
you need to go up 10-20% in weight to get similar BC in a 30cal bullet
none of that matters if you cant read wind though....
