Hi all,
Totally sick feeling in my stomach, my dog (Poppy) has been missing for about an hour now after taking off chasing a deer of some sort close to Button Oak. Little **** ignored the recall and was off after it like lightning. I'm still in the vicinity whistling and calling but she's never before been gone more than a minute or two after her occasional bouts of chasing.
Would appreciate anybody local keeping an eye out and if anyone would be kind enough to spread the word on Facebook, etc that would be appreciated.
She's a Lab/GWP cross, built like a lean labrador with a beard and white chest and paws. She is wearing a collar with my contact number on. I have about 4 hours before I need to go to work, will stay in the area as long as possible.
Many thanks

great news , theirs nothing worse than that, my border just goes into a hunting mode, she chased a squirrell up a tree and i couldnt find her for nearly 1/1/2 hours, where was she 12 foot up the bloody tree, the little bugger. regards dave.

Glad to hear happy outcome - it's an awful feeling when they don't come back; and hard to know how to respond when they do ! Make a great fuss of them ? Or do they interpret that as praise for running off ?!!

That's a new one on me, but I did once have to go looking for my teckel after he didn't come in from the garden when called. Found him deep inside the leylandii hedge and about 4 foot up. He'd climbed up a pile of brash/grass cuttings and jumped the 18 inches of chicken wire that stops him weaving his way out between the trunks. I think he was stuck there, he looked a bit sheepish...

Always praise for coming back. The last thing they did was come back so whatever you do will in their mind relate to that.
