Lost FAC

My FAC has been lost by Royal Mail whilst sending it back to the MET for a variation (no tracking updates for more than a week), and I have applied for a replacement certificate. I was wondering if the new one will be issued with the same certificate number, or if a new number will be issued?

What's "lost for more than a week"?

Exact same thing happened with me and Essex. Apparently the wrong postage was paid it turned up after 2/3 weeks.

my friend never recieved his new ticket some years back which was posted to him, and the police gave him a bollocking for losing it, my previous ticket was dumped on my doorstep, its about time it was delivered to you by hand by you feo, its a joke now, god forbid if evri got the job of delivering them

I don’t think hand delivery is the modern answer. Think of the cost that would then lead to a government spending review. Spending a fiver on signed for would be more practical or perhaps just introducing a modern online system that didn’t require posting…

And in the case of A&S, second-class mail to boot  For such an important/valuable document that’s penny-pinching gone mad. Frankly, the only thing that seems to work with any consistently as others say, are the Tracked 24/48 services and Special Delivery.

I feel your pain. Mine was lost by return by royal mail.. I waited the advised 8 weeks to chase it up only to be told it had been approved and sent back the day after they received it! Amazing turnaround let down by royal mail... My cert number remained the same on the replacement with the exception of the year number at the end changing.
