Magnum Primer with Ball Powder

When I started reloading in the 70's there was know question about reloading with ball powders you were always supposed to use a magnum primer. Well i am about to load some 6.5 Creedmoor brass ( which is the large rifle primer variety) with some Ramshot Hunter and I see most loads out there with standard primers . What are your thoughts?

No issues here with Hunter and Fed 210 in .243, 6.5 x 55 and .270, ES all within 30fps with a worked up load, some quite a bit lower.

I think if you work up, following the powder manufacturer's suggested starting load, then there should be no issue.

Not all ball powders need a mag primer at all.
Certain ones yes and or in certain cases.

I've found hunter good with my 257 Roberts. Best results for accuracy were with 215M primers but they weren't better enough to justify of standard LRP
