Master chef sackings..

With the BBC sacking both presenters from said programme albeit the 1st sacked had allegations confirmed. Apparently the 2nd to go, John Terode, wasn’t even told the date of said offence or had chance to defend him???? How on earth can they still use Packham as a front man for their British wildlife programs, even if he isn’t directly employed by them in a round about smoke and mirrors way??
It does amaze me how the Great British countryside and all that live and work in it are so poorly represented when we need the population to engage and understand the workings more than ever as we all impose so much more pressure on it.
Don’t think we’ll get much change till the country go hungry which may be closer than we could ever imagine what with the weather and wars that are happening and others that are looming….

The majority of licence payers think cp is without fault, the same people are offended by terms such as nice jugs love, and that cameraman looks like he enjoys a curry

It's all to do with the BBC not having any sort of handle on what their out of control presenters got up to over the last 40 odd years and now it's probably inevitable that to compensate for that they'll be ultra draconian. By which I don't mean to implicate I think what's happened to the Master Chef presenters is necessarily right or wrong.

As for Packham, like him or not, as far as I know, for all his faults he doesn't act in a way that's homophobic, treat women disrespectfully in any way or act in a racist manner.

I think the BBC has got to grow a pair and stop pandering to the virtuous, but first get its house in order. Have a look at any 1970s and early 1980s tv and you'll see all forms of prejudice in its full glory, thankfully we've moved on ( although I do love watching The Professionals now and again🤣). When they chucked Clarkson off for the 'slope on the bridge' comment did they also fire the producer and editor? I think not. Were they not aware that Greg Wallace cant keep his trousers on? If it's popular tv they'll keep producing it whatever, then when there's a problem they deny all knowledge. Pitiful.

Sorry, but that in no way mitigates his behaviours towards law abiding people, there's no league of how to treat people.
As for the BBC, stop paying them so they crumble.

To be honest I preferred it when it had Le Roux on it and, later Marcus Wareing with the "skills test". Torode's tenure didn't have any such trials as far as I recall so I never bothered to watch it. i didn't much like Monica Galetti when she presented. But Torode? He was a poor substitute for Le Roux and Wareing and although his departure seems unjust I don't regret him departing if it gets it back to its previous format of the competitors each having to complete the same menu or menus. And an actual working chef as a judge be that someone like Angela Hartnett or Richard Corrigan. I hope to God that it doesn't come back with either of the two idiots that formed Mel and Sue! I hear that Michael Portillo is available.

Don’t watch it but listening to the man from the bbc this morning, seems as if we should all apologise for breathing.

I do feel a bit sorry for JT as if it wasn’t for Wallace then this comment that he apparently uttered in a social setting and for which he apparently apologised for immediately (although the accuser can’t recall which year it happened!!) then he would still have his job.

Many of us will have uttered something unsavoury at some point in our lives that is in stark contradiction of their normal behaviour or views, often when drunk or having a crap day, so to lose your job over it some 6 or 7 years later seems to be somewhat unfair.

Not condoning racist language whatsoever, but why did this person wait so long to report it if they felt so strongly about it but equally conceded that the comment was not made with any malice and an apology was immediately forthcoming?

Smacks of BBC over reacting once again to the mildest of symptoms!

Off topic, but you’re mixing up the different versions.

Basic MasterChef, with members of the public, doesn’t have a Pro chef judging - it was just Torode and Wallace.

Professional MasterChef was the version that had the skills test at the start of each batch of chefs, and had Michel Roux and then Marcus Wareing. Monica Galletti was on this version as well. Torode did not appear on Professional MasterChef - only Wallace.

I think Pro MasterChef can easily survive without Wallace - he brought nothing to it. I had read that Grace Dent was in the frame to take over, which I think would be superb. She is superb, and is a professional restaurant critic, so knows what she’s talking about.

i stopped paying the TV license years ago , i do not watch live TV, and i refuse to pay for such a biased pedo hiding bunch of a holes

last night i heard something on the radio where someone had successfully argued in court that the BBC isn't live because there is a delay intentionally inserted to allow the use of beeping for swear words etc , i intend to investigate this today if i get a minute

No live TV is ever live as in you are watching it immediately as it happens - there is always a delay, sometimes it’s seconds and other times it may be minutes - think F1 - the need a short delay in case there is a huge crash and some poor driver is seen getting killed or horribly injured. The need to be able to switch feeds in such an event is necessary and I don’t think it constitutes any form of cover up!!

It's called a 'Broadcast Delay', apparently. A quick Google states it's around 7 seconds or so.

Hello, Seems the BBC are a Law to themselves with what they get away with, You only need go back to the Jimmy Savile era and subsequent cover ups with other high profile people

Ah! I see. I did wonder where the skills test had gone. Thank you. That's why the "Basic Master Chef" I didn't find it interesting. Thank you. It was only the "Professional" one that I found interesting. Now I know better.

Broadcast delay is standard across all ‘live’ events, for all sorts of reasons.

It’s why when watching something like rugby, you never actually see the tackle that smashes a leg…

Yes. When they are dead and cannot sue then wait and see, finally, the naming and shaming of all those who were supportive of Savile and yet now claim not to have known. Didn't know? They'd put Albert Speer to shame with their "I didn't know".

That formula didn't work at Glastonbury with the rapper promoting Pro Palestine Hamas
rapper Bobby Vylan, who until the weekend was relatively unknown, led crowds in chants of “free, free Palestine” and “death, death” to the Israeli military. The BBC said it regretted livestreaming the performance and it should have pulled it off the air.
