Mauser M25 or something else?

I did make the demo day. That's where I tried:
Mauser M25 - quite liked and seriously considering
Blaser R8 - regret trying as I loved it but realistically out of budget
Sauer 505 - hated
Tikka t3x ace game - shot well but far too heavy and too much metal for me.

If I hadn't tried the blaser I would probably be getting the M25. But as I preferred the blaser I thought maybe I should try some other gun within budget in case I get on better with them. My parents live down in Devon so I may visit them and pop into Ivythorne.

The thing with the Mauser is it was the only gun I didn't manage to hit the 300m target with, the other three I did consistently with three shots. Might just have been it was the first gun I tried and I was a bit too excited/not shot in front of people before but it's just put a tiny bit of reservation in my head about it.
I would bet it was just your first shot nerves. We were out the other day with a mates M12 in a hunting synthetic stalk and shooting out to 300 no probs using factory ammo, never mind reloads.

I would go and try the M25 again.

Myself personally have got on great with a Tikka T3x and stuck them in a PSE stock with pistol type grip. Possibly another option for you. Light weight and has all the ergonomics that you would like.

PS. Same mate is now wanting a M25 to add to his M12

Pop over to Edinburgh and have a look at Steel Lightweight strait pull. Available in 6.5 CM. Harkness Rifles is on this forum. I think these are a lot nicer than the R8 - no plastic involved.

The Steel Action HSL is roughly 3.2kg and comes in .308 or 6.5 Creed its also a straight pull and a very lovely rifle!

The one in the middle is an HSL in 6.5 creed
Ok more information please as I know very little of the action and have a good mate in the market, and is seriously considering the M25

Also, does the thumbhole stock come in a synthetic form?
