Hi ya …..You are going to get a mixed bag of results here with everyone stating their preference. For me …. I like the GRS stocks. The adjustability and the off set hand grip make them comfortable for me. The reality is that you need to get behind them and see what you’re most comfortable with. I don’t use the others but to the best of my knowledge all of them are well made and somebodies dream. It’s down to what you are comfortable behind.

Hi nocturnal, thanks for replying, I have looked more into the grs stocks as like you said the adjustability of them is great and this type of stock is something I am leaning towards as I have seen quite a few of them around, as you suggest I should see what is most comfortable for me before making a decision, The grs warg/ berserk look good, so think I might try and have a look at these , many thanks

For my tuppence worth have a look at the bifrost if your looking a rugged hunting rifle…. If you want something pretty then I think the laminate sporter in green mountain camo looks great…..

The XRS is a nice stock for long range precision, it has a longer forend for positioning the bipod out and a nice bit of weight. Manages the recoil pulse very well too. There’s a reason the MDT’s are so popular, the XLR is a good option. I have 3 LSS - lighter and shorter but you can fit with your choice of pistol grip and butt stock. I’ve shot mine out to beyond 1000 and it’s great. Can’t comment on the GRS stocks I’m afraid, never had one.

Not MDT, but I did try a Dolphin chassis on a Rem700, although accurate it just felt dead, I'm in the process of fitting it into a GRS, as already mentioned, I prefer the grip and it positions my finger perfectly on the trigger, I do like the GRS design, switched another rifle into one from a thumbhole

Have two rifles in GRS Sporter stocks & once you adjust to having a cant on the pistol grip they’re very comfortable to use & intuitive if that’s the right word for it. The GRS Berserk (& Sporter) can certainly be found with the Howa 1500 inlet secondhand if you look around for one.

For long range target/steels, I use an AICS stock.

Have mdt xrs and oryx as well as a grs bifrost. I'd def look towards the mdt stuff for 1000 yards. I love my bifrost for stalking and foxing but the weight and rigidity of the mdt stuff are what wins comps.

I really have come to like the grs stocks being a big lad the only rifle that’s ever fitted well in a standard stock is my Mauser m12 I’ve got 3 now a bitfrost and 2 sporter laminate I do prefer the the bifrost but like them all top to bottom tikka t3x sako 85 22-250 and the might cz527 in 17 hornet

Hi All , thanks for the replies , and the photos has given me an idea of what the grs stocks look like in different styles, thanks

Had both and sold the GRS for another MDT. Don't get me wrong the GRS is a lovely chassis but I couldn't get on with the angle of the grip. Excellent tool less adjustment on some models.

Id be inclined to have a look at a LSS Gen 3 for customising options.

Always look at everything you can. I considered KRG for my Sako TRG but went a full Vision chassis instead

Hi Rocket looks fantastic, a lot of customisation on there , I suppose after the add ons for the krg to get to the same spec they would be around the same price, thanks for sending over the photo always great to see different stocks and what people have done with them

I can only comment on the MDT ESS chassis.

I run mine on both my .223 and .243 Howa 1500's
My .223 with 15" forend

And my .243 with a 12" forend

The rigidity and adjustability ticks all my boxes and the ability to bolt on a plethora of bits to suit your needs is a good thing.

I use MDT and the guy I shoot with the most has a GRS.
I don't get on with the his and hes not a fan of mine.
All I can recommend is getting behind one before you splash out on one.

Hi Jacob,
Take a look at the Randy Newberg videos. Randy hunts across the US exclusively with Howa but last year he and his team got into the competition/longer range scene.
