MDT Oryx precision rifle chassis

Thinking of putting one of my Tikka 243 in one of the above,has anyone had any experience with the above chassis,pros and cons.Thanks in advance

Yes, sold it, too heavy for walking round for hours with. Depends on your intended purpose as to suitability.

Have not long purchased one for my Howa, have to say I’m very happy! No not the lightest admittedly but for me, driving to my hides and shooting over distance it is perfect and seems a very well built bit of kit!

For that sort of shooting, they are a good option. The Oryx is good value for what it is.

As a shooter of conventional stocks for decades, I was very skeptical of chassis. My son started using one, and I found I like them a lot. Now many of my rifles are in a chassis.

I'm sold on mine. Weight aside (and I use mine on a rested range-rifle, so heavier the better!), it depends on whether you like the straight-line layout and AR pistol-grip format. Not everybody does!

The rifle looks great, but the tripod is quite beat up

Not really mate I painted it green and with legs sliding in and out the paint has
worn off

22 Hornet Weihrauch in a Tikka T3 chassis. Heavy lump but rock solid for long range. Used mainly off sticks or up in a fox box.

I have on on my 223 CTR, it’s very solid and ridged. However despite the side panels it will be cold to carry in the hand for any length of time. Mine is a range queen and so that not an issue for me

Fantastic kit & decent money. Popped an MDT fat vertical grip on it & really does feel better for me

Had mine initially on my T3X varmint... admittedly in that format it was a little weighty.
Now on my T3X .223 stainless sporter & I honestly find it an excellent combination. It's very stable off sticks, tripod or bipod and with the adjustable comb ideal for NV. The pistol grip gives a very stable hold when unslinging the rifle from your shoulder & lifting onto sticks. Maybe not everybody's cup of tea aesthetically but I love its' practicality & would recommend it.
Also look at the thread below this regarding thumb screws for the comb.

I like the feel of it I have added a couple of MLok weights, just got to wait until they get the forend weight that slides into the fore end, back in stock, as I like a Heavy rifle

Old post I know, but what 223 mags were you using, CTR mags?
