Meat Grinder Recommendations

Hi all.

Can anyone recommend a half decent meat grinder off amazon?

Don't want to speak too much. Just for mincing the odd bit of meat. Preferably electric

I have done Andrew James mincer that has coped with doing 15 kilos of mince at a time for the last few years.

Went 5 years ago for the Lakeland mincer as it's only about 1 in 4 carcasses I do mince/burgers/sausages and it's never missed a beat. When it does gets used, it gets used hard. Found a secondhand one for £20 shortly afterwards and bought that for spares but it's never been needed.

Mine looks like this:

I see there's a couple up on eBay for £40-£45:thumb:

I have a lakeland very good for the money but they dont do them any more weschenfelder do plenty including trespade plus sausage stuffers or go to aldi /lidl but these are slower

Got a Duronic Premium electric mincer off Amazon for 100 quid, it's only minced 3 carcasses so far but seems ok for the money.

Tre Spade.

I've been through and broken and slowed down a few Amazon cheap jobbies over the years when starting out. Lots of plastic parts and monkey metal, as you call it. Overheat easy, wear etc etc. It all depends how many you process i.e. frequency and if you do the odd bit of a deer or if you will process whole deer weekly like I do.

I currently use a stainless 1.5 hp inox no. 22. Which is a pricey unit but i got a slightly damaged (body) in transit ex demo unit for a lesser price. It smashes through everything.

A Tre Spade inox no. 8 in stainless is a good starter and it will last a long time. Go stainless over cast metal.. with cast metal mincer units (not blades etc) you have to look out for rust after you have cleaned them and dry them off well straight after cleaning, not leave to drain/dry on a surface.

I use Weschenfelder for most of my supplies.

I hope that is of some use.

I’ve one of these and have done whole deer with it. I would prefer a bigger, quicker one but this does the job if you don’t want to spend much
