The very real risks associated with this are gradually gaining greater awareness but to my mind we need to go faster and get much tougher with those bringing this crap meat into the UK.

Yes we promote good meat etc but it comes up at a price

Many folk on here ill guess or assume are on a higher end of a paycheck

Many folk 2x parents working and still struggling to make ends meet

So when it comes to it most folk are looking at price before quality

And then there is folk who dont care if only light their animal sees is one in back of the oven

We need to get them buying more venison! Simple, it shouldn't be rocket science but it seems like it!

Interesting in last night's high-end restaurant they insisted in calling it deer on the menu and when questioned, they said chef thought customers better understood that and not venison

So "hard" the Authorities haven't charged a single smuggler! All they do is confiscate the meat and send them on their way. This includes lorries without a chiller full to axle-breaking point and not just those with multiple suitcases of the stuff.

Uk beef amongst the safest in the world, due to previous fmd historical outbreak and subsequent traceability requirements imposed ( the heavy requirements on beef farmers records are testimony to this).

Yes but post Brexit it is going into the EU so it is the same as from UK to the USA in your baggage a big naughty.
