The .243 groups had opened up so after a long overdue bore scrub which took longer as I discounted a few fowling shots (hot barrel) the 1" @ 100 was back in my head lol
Wheat cut and bailed I sort to find some cubs but found the vixen who was not having any of that slinking back as I tried to use the bales as cover so tipped my cap muttering "see you later" heading to the vineyard part of the farm.
Second stand a hot shape close to cover so gave him a call just to stop him while the rifle was going on the sticks and to find him! Second call now a single sapling inline with the shoulders
go the other side mind full he will run
He did.
The 6' deep ditch was the hardest part of the recovery with the thermal picking him out 20+ yds from the shot strike, lumpy deer at 13.6 kg hot dressed
Back to the wheat fields passing Carl on the way with his bale carting kit mindful he could well turn up in a while I found the vixen but she was not stopping but while calling and dialled in on where she was moving to a cub had come in for a look from my right! Not so out of focus also no time to fiddle for a sharp image as it must have been there for a while.
Carl pulled in a few mins later so I stuck the hazards on while walking it to issue a hedge ticket, he pulled up "only one Tim laughing" Yes and I will let you get on
