I bought a ex mod schmidt and bender mk2 on ebay last week and it's turned up with all the markings removed including the serial number has anyone seen this before when i purchased it all the photos had butler creek covers covering the marks 20221124_083300.webp20221124_083255.webp

It's a very professional job oh removing the serial number it looks to be done on a lathe? Or with a cnc. Only problem I have now is the missing rubber eye piece as it's unlikely s&b will help me without the serial number

I might have a rubber eye piece that fits. It didn’t fit my 4-16x50 pm2.

I hope the price was right. I really want one at the moment.
It was £750 ? So I'm not sure if that's good or bad really the glass is superb but the lack of serial number has put me off slightly. Would you sell the rubber eye piece?

I think some form of NV was fitted, hence both the machining and removal of rubber eye piece.
Get a refund, no telling what else will crop up!!! Just my view

Just had a thumb through "The Green Meanie" some were apparently deployed without NSN's engraved on the eyepiece, nothing about them being machined off though.

With regards to the missing rubber, the originals had issues with dust ingress via the the focus ring. It being missing might become a potential problem.

Just contact S&B for a new rubber eyepiece ring and they should send you one for free. Provided the lense coatings are fine and both AI turret adjustments track accurately you've got a bargain. If it's piece of mind you want, then send it to S&B for an inspection and service - although this will cost.

@Ronin is correct. PM11 issued with the .338 AWM before being replaced by the L115A3 with the 5-25x56 and similar variants.
Also issued on the L96s replacing the 6x42s.
Good scope for £750 if legit.

I’d be wary of the lack of serial number though. I’ve never seen a serial number removed by the military for civilian sale or otherwise.

Ok ill make sure it all tracks OK over the weekend and if so ill keep it. I've contacted s&b and they are sending a rubber eye piece out so might have got a half decent deal thus does have the non reflective green lens coating and a second set of numbers above the normal "clicks" that I would imagine would be calibrated to a military caliber such as .338 or could this possibly be .308/7.62 ???

Most likely the second number set above Mil graduation is calibrated to 7.62 issued ammo for set distances (quick ajust to hit 1.5 mtr tall target ,,,)

The scope looks early PM11 with single turn turret (13 MIL? Total elevation)

I may be wrong but think the AWSM were issued with 5-25 due to greater reach of that system

I’d just enjoy the scope without worrying about the BDC unless you’re using 7.62 it’s probably not going to coincide with anything useable

Good stalking scope
